Our community rules and editorial standards.

Aposto considers all persons, communities, organizations and institutions from an equidistant point of view. We do not allow any kind of discriminatory content to be published on our service. These include the following contents that:

• Attack, discriminate against or alienate a person or a group of people on the basis of their race, language, religion, disability, ethnic background, gender, sexual identity, sexual orientation, financial means, immigration status or political views.
• Target any person, community, nation or institution; or incite violence and harm against them.
• Harass or contain insults; or provoke individuals and groups to breed hatred.
• Contain links to websites that include hate speech.

We do not allow publishing contents that could harm a part of the society, its entirety or its integrity. These include the following:

• Pornographic content, or contents that include nudity or obscenity.
• Rude and offensive content, or contents that include profanity.
• Contents that explicitly or graphically depict violence.
• Contents that promote self harm, eating disorders or suicide; or using tobacco, alcohol or other illegal drugs and substances.
• Contents that condone physical abuse of any person or animal; or promote such abuses.
• Contents that promote betting or gambling; or give betting advice; or contain links to such activities.

We believe that publishing the truth matters as much as having inclusivity in media. Hence, we do not allow publishing contents that contain misinformation or misleading information as described below. Furthermore, in case of publishing misinformation or misleading content, Aposto requires publishers to publicly and transparently acknowledge the issue and amend the content that is found to be misleading. This is a prerequisite for joining the service. Contents that:

• Contain misinformation or mislead about public health and safety,
• Contain misinformation or speculation; or mislead about democratic processes and elections,
• Contain videos and/or images that are intentionally edited or digitally manipulated for misleading (digital manipulation for artistic purposes are not considered under this section),
• Contain disproved information or include any conspiracy theories,
• Impersonate a person, group, organization, legal entity or brand,
• Portray a person or institution’s relationship to a third party in a speculative or deceptive manner,
• Contain quotes from sources without their consent; or display quotes incompletely or in a misleading manner,
• Contain plagiarism; or portray content of any form that is produced by third parties as the publisher’s own,

are not allowed to be published.

We expect our publishers to publish original & authentic content, and consider intellectual property rights of third parties in all aspects relating to their publication, including in branding, images and other relevant information. Contents are required to be published with respect to the copyrights and trademarks of third parties. Publishers can publish content with regard to the items listed below:

• Contents that do not include works/materials of third parties that are protected by copyrights, with the exception of those that fall within fair use rights and other legal exceptions.
• In case of not having the appropriate licensing rights, contents that properly refer to the original source and links.
• For images, contents that do not alter the meaning or the message of the original work.
• Contents for which the publisher has the right to legally use trademarks.

Publishers are legally responsible for any kind of written, audio and visual content they publish in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.

We do not allow publishers to publish misleading content or use the service in a malevolent manner. This section contains the following violations:

• Registering fake subscribers or attempting to fabricate interactions.
• Using the Aposto media service for committing fraud in any way.
• Using tags, links, headlines, images and other metadata in misleading ways.
• Linking to websites that contain malware or other malicious software.
• Publishing deceptive content (including clickbait) to create income or traffic.
• In case of having a relationship based on mutual interest (including financial relationships) with any third party; making comments, giving advice or information regarding the parties involved without explicitly declaring the relationship.

If a publisher receives free goods/services or any other kind of compensation with respect to the content they publish, they are required to explicitly declare so. You can find more details regarding this topic in the Aposto Sponsorship Guide.

We do not allow publishing contents that violate universal human rights or those that legally constitute a crime. These include contents that:

• Violate the rights of animals and nature.
• Contain child abuse.
• Contain elements against laws of the Republic of Turkey.
• Contain insults against persons, institutions and judiciary bodies.
• Violate or infringe upon intellectual property rights, copyrights or trademarks.
• Contain threats against persons or institutions referred to in the content; or those that directly/indirectly constitute a possibility of harm against them.
• Depict or encourage sexual harassment, abuse and rape.
• Encourage the use of illegal substances, drugs, firearms or explosives.
• Promote or market prostitution and escorting services.
• Distribute phone numbers, mailing/emailing addresses and other kinds of personal information without the consent of concerned parties.
• Contain links to websites that breach the Ethos.

Contents that include elements described above are removed from the service without notifying the publisher and Aposto reserves the right to take relevant moderation actions deemed necessary, including termination of the publisher agreement.
